Olivia is a Perth Orthoptist providing services directly from our optometry practice. She has experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of eye disorders, having previously worked with the National Health Service in the United Kingdom. She is enjoying learning more about the world of optics and has quickly adapted to life in Perth.

In-Clinic Orthoptist

Olivia assists with prescribing optical aids, providing targeted vision therapy as well as being a first point on contact in the practice for patient care. She is also involved in a number of additional tests within the practice such as visual field testing

  • B(Med)Sci (University of Sheffield, UK)

  • Membership of Orthoptics Australia

  • Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board


Areas of Expertise

  • Diagnosis and management of binocular eye disorders in adults and children

  • Management of strabismus (eye misalignment) and amblyopia.  Strabismus is a condition in which your eyes don’t line up with one another (i.e. one eye is turned in a direction that’s different from the other eye). Amblyopia, also known as lazy eye, is a condition that occurs when the nerve pathway from one eye to the brain doesn't develop properly during childhood. 

  • Treatment of neurological vision impairment following stroke and traumatic brain injury.

  • Low vision support for those with age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma

  • Diplopia management for individuals with autoimmune disorders (e.g. Grave’s disease) and neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Parkinson’s disease).
