Why We Choose Private Billing: Our Commitment to Excellence in Eye Care

At For Eyes Optometrist, we understand that healthcare costs matter to our patients. We're often asked, "Do you bulk bill your eye examinations?" While some practices do, we've made a conscious decision to operate as a private billing practice—and here's why this benefits you.

Why We Choose Private Billing

Private billing allows us to:

  • Spend more time with each patient (30-60 minutes per appointment)

  • Perform comprehensive assessments without rushing

  • Use advanced diagnostic equipment for early detection of eye conditions

  • Provide personalized care plans tailored to your specific needs

Private billing gives us the flexibility to deliver care that’s tailored to your individual needs. It enables us to take the time, use the right tools, and offer the clinical attention that supports long-term eye health.

Time to focus on you

Appointments aren’t rushed. We have the flexibility to allow time to understand your concerns, carry out thorough assessments, and talk through your results and options.

Comprehensive in-practice testing

Consultations include all necessary assessments and tests, ensuring nothing is overlooked and that your eye health is fully supported.

Care that fits your needs

We create treatment plans based on what’s most appropriate for your eye health, ensuring care is always aligned with your individual requirements.

Ongoing improvement and investment

Private billing helps us continually invest in technology, training, and services — supporting early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective ongoing management.

This approach supports a personalised, patient-centred experience — with your health as the priority at every stage.

Our Fee Structure

To maintain our high standard of care and access to advanced technology, our fees are structured based on appointment duration and complexity:

Appointment Type Duration Fee
Standard Consultation Up to 30 minutes $110.00
Long Consultation Up to 45 minutes $155.00
Extended or Complex Consultation Up to 60 minutes $195.00

Your Medicare rebate, based on eligibility, will be transferred directly into your bank account. We can arrange to claim on your behalf after your appointment.

  • Include all clinically recommended tests as part of your consultation

  • Offer access to advanced diagnostic equipment with no added cost on the day

  • Make treatment decisions based entirely on your individual needs

How Does For Eyes Optometrist Benefit from the Private Billing Model

The private billing model allows us to dedicate more time and resources to each appointment, supporting a thorough and individualised approach to eye care.

With longer consultations, our optometrists can carry out detailed assessments, explain results clearly, and design treatment plans that suit your specific needs. All recommended testing — including advanced diagnostic imaging — is included as part of your visit, so there are no unexpected costs on the day.
